Keywords are the words or phrases that people type into Google when they need something, an answer, or a service.

Easy example:
If someone types on Google:

This is a keyword. In simple words, whatever a person types into Google or any other search engine is called a keyword, just like I showed in the screenshot above.

How many types of keywords are there?

There are two types of keywords:

• Short-tail keywords
• Long-tail keywords

What are Short-Tail Keywords?

Short-tail keywords are keywords that consist of 1 or 2 words and are very general.

Easy examples:

• Shoes

Short-Tail Keywords

The meaning of these keywords is not clear, Google does not know exactly what the user wants.

For example:
if someone types “Mobile” on Google, it is unclear whether they want to:
